There will be something for all the family!” \n\n\n\nCastleconnell Village is set to become one giant picnic on Sunday 5th of May and are inviting all locals to come out on the street to celebrate unity and togetherness.  The Castleconnell Street Feastival is in conjunction with the new national community weekend The Big Hello’s Street Feast and will be held on the Sunday of the May Bank Holiday weekend\, but organisers\, LOVE Castleconnell promise it will be much more than just a celebration of food! \n\n\n\nKicking off at 12 noon there will be food available by local artisan vendors\, there promises to be music\, competitions\, face painting\, special announcements and lots of surprises. \n\n\n\nOrganisers are encouraging everyone to bring a dish\, a picnic\, a chair\, a musical instrument\, or whatever they wish to enjoy the day! \n\n\n\nThe event kicks off at 12 noon on Sunday 5th of May – There will be competitions and raffles with prizes that include Afternoon Tea from the Castle Oaks House Hotel and Estate\, hampers and gift vouchers. \n\n\n\nMore information available at www.lovecastleconnell.com/feastival

DESCRIPTION:Castleconnell Boat Club will hold its annual Sprints Regatta on Saturday\, May 20. Racing will take place at Worlds End for the vast majority of the day.  \nThe community is warmly invited to join us! We will cheer on our own rowers and meet up with pals from other boat clubs\, it’s great craic. Our fantastic volunteers will be manning all areas of the operation\, including the canteen/bbq/coffee-and-tea station. Come down and see what we get up to—you just might see our next national champions in action! \nPlease note that the road along that stretch of the Shannon from the boat club to Charcos will be closed from very early morning on the 20th until racing ends\, only trucks with trailers and residents will be allowed to pass by. We will be doing our level best to ensure visitors treat our village with the respect we treat their’s when we visit\, particularly in terms of parking appropriately.

DESCRIPTION:MAY BELLS RING AND VOICES SING IN CASTLECONNELL. \nIn early April\, Reverend Paul Fitzpatrick\, was contacted by the renowned Davidson Methodist Church Choir and Handbells from North Carolina\, USA\, to find out if it might be possible for the 50 strong choir to perform\, free of charge\, in Castleconnell on Tuesday\, the 30th of May at 7:30 pm to raise funds for a chosen charity.\nReverend Paul\, Father Tom Whelan and Leslie Hartigan decided that this ecumenical event would take place in Saint Joseph’s Church and a retiring collection would be donated in its entirety for the Turkey\, Syrian Earthquake appeal. This promises to be a wonderful opportunity to hear a world-class choir perform locally while raising funds by a retiring collection\, for a most worthy cause.\n“”This performance is sure to be a really memorable experience for everyone in attendance and we are thrilled to be able to support the appeal through this event\,” said Father Tom.
