Whether you’re a visitor or a local, this section is all about enjoying everything Castleconnell has to offer. The village plays host to a number of festivals and events throughout the year catering to all ages, from classical concerts to regattas on the river. So, keep an eye out here to find out what’s going on.
Here, you will also find information about the River Shannon, so important to the village and today designated as a Special Area of Conservation. The riverside information boards will tell you more about the history of the river and the local flora and fauna. The ferry carpark is well known as the place to feed the ducks and swans but if you continue along the riverside nature trail, you may also catch a glimpse of a grey heron or cormorant perching on the rocks by the footbridge.
