CD Launch: Fiana Ní Chonaill ‘Something Old Something New’

Something Old Something New’ is the second album by Irish harper composer Fiana Ní Chonaill who hails from Castleconnell, Co. Limerick. This album is a culmination of a project that explores the blending of traditional music and new compositions, presenting harp-specific repertoire, slow airs, jigs, reels, hornpipes, as well as newly composed music inspired by her local area and life events. Contemporary Irish artist Meadhbh Ní Eidhin created individual artworks inspired by each of Fiana’s newly composed tunes, adding an evocative visual dimension to the music. These original works will be on display as part of the performance.
’Something Old Something New’ will officially be launched on the 13th of February at Kilmurry Arts & Heritage Centre, Castletroy, Co.Limerick at 7pm. This is a free event and all are welcome.
